Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of aerobic training on selected physical fitness components of inter-collegiate football players. Football is a high-intensity sport that requires a blend of aerobic and anaerobic capabilities, making aerobic conditioning essential for sustained performance. This study involved 30 male inter-collegiate football players aged 18 to 25 years, who underwent a structured aerobic training program for eight weeks. Pre- and post-tests were conducted using standardized fitness assessments to measure key components. The collected data was statistically analyzed to compare the pre- and post-training performance. Results showed significant improvements in agility and strength. The findings suggest that regular aerobic training positively influences several important aspects of physical fitness, especially agility and strength, which are critical for football performance. The study concluded that aerobic training positively affects these physical fitness variables, which could enhance the overall performance of football players. The analysis of the data was done by applying ‘t’ test.
