Abstract

The article highlights the results of scientific research aimed at improving the training process for runners specializing in the 400-meter distance. The work is devoted to analyzing changes in the speed endurance indicators of athletes during the special training period and determining the effectiveness of interval and special running exercises in the training process structure. The article reveals the main patterns of speed endurance development in sprinters, shows the relationship between the volume and intensity of loads, the level of technical preparedness, and the functional adaptation of the body. Particular attention is paid to the characteristics of training methods that ensure an optimal balance between the development of speed and endurance, as well as an increase in tolerance to high-intensity physical loads. Speed endurance is a determining factor in the performance of 400-meter runners, as it ensures the ability to maintain high speed at maximum physiological loads. The study found that the use of the developed training methodology, which includes a combination of interval running exercises and plyometric exercises, contributed to a significant improvement in the speed endurance of athletes (p < 0.05). The most significant changes were recorded in the 400-meter run, where the time taken to cover the distance was reduced by an average of 8.5%, indicating an increase in competitive performance.
